Install distro Wine (apt install wine, dnf install wine) in the event its needed (I didn't test without it). The basic instructions (could be different for you at any point): Eventually it will hopefully filter to official Proton. In that case, I consider the problem solved. But, videos play on a new Wine prefix using GE Proton. I haven't used another Proton with Steam before today so only testing now. So there's another way to do this now, one that Valve is OK with. Hopefully, soon that will be not necessary though as Code Weavers and Valve or whoever has been working on getting videos of this type working in Wine.
